Youth Development Officer Term of Office - 1 year
Duties & Responsibilities
- To co-ordinate the organisation and management of the
regional junior squads as part of the National Talent Development Programme.
- To provide advice and guidance to regional junior squad
managers
- To promote, co-ordinate and support a programme of junior
development in schools and clubs across the region working with the EVA and Area
Associations.
- To agree to abide by the EVA Duty of Care Policy relating
to Child Protection issues acting as the regions reference point on Child Protection
issues.
- To liaise with the EVA Youth Development Commission.
Hours, frequency and dates required
- Attendance at the AGM and any General Meetings.
- Attendance at EVF Executive Committee meetings.
- Approximately 1-2 hour per week to complete essential
administration tasks.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities
Required
- Experience of working in an administrative capacity
within a sport at local, regional and/or national level.
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of Child
Protection issues.
- A basic understanding of the LTAD (Long term Athlete
Development) model
- Experience of working with young people.
- Basic IT skills necessary for effective and efficient
communication with others.
- Good man-management skills to be able to get the best out
of others.
- Ability to set and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience as a volleyball player, coach and/or referee.
- A sense of humour.
- Ability to listen and act in an unbiased and impartial
manner
- Ability to accept positive comment and constructive
criticism.
