Essex Womens competition
2009-2010

A competition is being held at Brentwood International Centre on the following Wednesdays

21st April -This competition was cancelled due to the organiser and several players being stranded abroad.

5th May - A great evening for the Brenwtood and Chelmsford teams that came along.  Agreement to play a three set match saw Chelmsford take the first set 25-17 but then struggle in the second going down 18-25.  So to a decider.  At 14-11 down Chelmsford clawed their way back and thought at 16-14 they had won a best to 15 set.  However, the Brentwood team anc coach and mots critcally the referee were looking at a first to 25 points and the home side eventually took back the nitiative to win it 25-19 for a 2-1 win.  A friendly set afterwards restored some parity as Chelmsford took it, making it 2 sets each on the evening.  Thanks go to Brendan Osborne and Loraine Bartlett who refereed on the evening and to all the players who competed in such good spirit.  A picture of the Chelmsford team can be seen here.   

19th May - This evening was designated to be the League decider and saw Chelmsford take on Brentwood Divas for the title. After a slow start when they took too long to get into the first set, there followed three good and enjoyable sets with Brentwood coming out the winners taking the match 25-14, 25-20, 22-25, 25-17 and with it the League title.
