Vice Presidents -role It was suggested at the 2004 AGM that the role of Vice President of the Essex Volleyball Association be bettre defined. The Executive Committee agreed the following in October The position is an honorary role elected annually at the AGM for one year; VP's can be re-elected year on year. The intention behind the position is to say thank you and to recognise significant contributions to Essex volleyball, ususally over a period of years, and often by those not currently active. There are no restrictions on nominations so that non players can be elected and it is at the AGM's discretion how many to have. There are no formal duties attached to the role although the individual may on occasions be asked to represent Essex or act as dignitary e.g. present trophies. VP's have no vote at any meeting but can attend AGM's or other meetings at the discretion of the chairman. They could be asked to consider any contentious issues where it is not possible to establish a quorum of committee members who do not have a declared interest. The President might then call together a group of willing GP's to resolve the issue.
